Billie Dragoo was named one of the finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award in the Midwest. Ms. Dragoo was selected as an exceptional entrepreneur by an independent judging panel made up of regional business, academic and community leaders. "These finalists are the best of the best, embodying the unique spirit of entrepreneurism," said Randall Tavierne, Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Markets Leader for the Midwest. Billie Dragoo has proven her mettle as an innovative entrepreneur by continually evolving her business to confront shifting market conditions. Building on her experience as a medical recruiter, she started RepuCare in 1995 to do things her way. With integrity, candor, and aggressiveness, Billie developed staffing and health care firms that employ more than 150 people.

The Torchbearer Award is the highest award presented only to women by the State of Indiana.The Torchbearer Awards are presented annually by the state-sponsored Indiana Commission for Women and honor Hoosier women who have overcome obstacles or whose achievements have contributed to making the state a better place in which to live, work and raise a family. Award categories range from business, biotech, and education to engineering, sports, architecture, construction, and labor advocacy, among others.
This year's winners in the various categories were announced on January 22, 2008, in downtown Indianapolis. Since 2004, ninety-nine women, including 26 at this year's ceremony, have been honored as Torchbearers.
