Ms. Dragoo was selected as an exceptional entrepreneur by an independent judging panel made up of regional business, academic and community leaders. The Torchbearer Award is the highest award presented only to women by the State of Indiana.The Torchbearer Awards are presented annually by the state-sponsored Indiana Commission for Women and honor Hoosier women who have overcome obstacles or whose achievements have contributed to making the state a better place in which to live, work and raise a family. Award categories range from business, biotech, and education to engineering, sports, architecture, construction, and labor advocacy, among others.

This year's winners in the various categories were announced on January 22, 2008, in downtown Indianapolis. Since 2004, ninety-nine women, including 26 at this year's ceremony, have been honored as Torchbearers.
