Community Outreach Relations Specialist

The Community Outreach Relations Specialist is involved in the development, presentation, and delivery of community outreach initiatives, activities, and market strategies to support Client programs and drive engagement, retention, and growth. This role serves as a trusted representative within designated communities, building strong relationships with community partners, providers, and individuals across diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the Client by promoting core values, services, and community-focused initiatives within assigned territories
  • Conduct outreach activities for community members who are Aged, Blind, and Disabled
  • Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships within a regionally based service area
  • Collaborate with local agencies, medical providers, community-based organizations (CBOs), and faith-based organizations (FBOs)
  • Educate and network with individuals of diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Develop relationships with members, providers, Departments of Health, and other key stakeholders
  • Utilize market research and competitive analyses to inform outreach strategies and initiatives
  • Organize and participate in community events and activities to increase awareness and engagement
  • Create and deliver presentations for stakeholder meetings and community partners
  • Manage sponsorship inquiries and coordinate outreach materials
  • Present to professionals and organizations serving the aged, blind, and disabled population
  • Provide approved outreach and enrollment materials to designated community locations
  • Participate in local coalitions, boards, and advisory councils as a Client representative
  • Report field feedback to support program development and enhancement
  • Input outreach activity data into Salesforce or other designated systems
  • Compose monthly and quarterly summary reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Quality, Provider Relations, Member Experience) to align outreach efforts
  • Demonstrate understanding of applicable laws, regulations, contracts, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, ACA, CMS, state regulations)
  • Conduct oneself in a professional, respectful manner when working with partners, members, and the community
  • Seek new outreach opportunities and innovative engagement strategies
  • Adapt responsibilities as program needs evolve 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in health or human services preferred; equivalent education and experience considered
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license required
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Ability to travel up to 75% within assigned territory
  • Smartphone capable of supporting Microsoft Office, Zoom, Salesforce, Google Drive, Slack, and similar applications
  • Basic computer proficiency with the ability to learn new systems
  • Experience in community outreach and connecting individuals to local resources
  • Ability to deliver presentations and facilitate meetings
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective one-on-one educator and relationship builder
  • Ability to complete activity reports accurately and on time
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to transport, lift, carry, and set up outreach and promotional materials
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
